一年生の「農業と環境」の授業では、前回作った畝に白菜と大根を作付けました。白菜は育った苗を植え、大根は種から蒔きました。大根は苗を植えるとまっすぐ育たず二股になってしまいます。野菜の特性によっては、良い形に育てるためには種から蒔く必要があります。
収穫までは約60日かかります。それまで生徒が世話と管理をします。秋のお鍋のシーズンでの収穫が目標です。
In the first-year Agriculture and Environment class, students planted Chinese cabbage and Daikon radish on the ridges they had prepared in earlier lessons. The cabbages were planted as seedlings, while daikon was sown from seed. If daikon seedlings are planted, the root will not grow straight and may split into two. Depending on the characteristics of vegetables, some need to be planted from seed to ensure food shape.
It will take about 60 days until harvest. Until then, students will take care of the crops. They look forward to harvesting them in autumn, just in time for hot-pot season!
