「うわぁ」「もう動物にやられてる！」一年生の農業と環境の授業では、トウモロコシ畑の畝（うね）の草取りを行いました。ここ数日の雨の少ない気候の影響でトウモロコシはスクスクと育ち、野生動物を呼び寄せたり雑草が畝で伸びたりもしていました。このトウモロコシは実の収穫だけでなく土壌改良も意図して育成しているものです。生徒たちは汗を流して畑の管理をしていました。
“Oh, no!” “Wild animals have already eaten the corns!” In the Agriculture and Environment class, first-year students worked on weeding the ridges around the cornfields. Recent dry weather has helped the corn grow quickly, but the sweet kernels attracted wild animals, and weeds have spread as well. The goal of cultivating corn is not only harvesting but also improving the condition of the soil. Students worked hard in the heat, sweat on their brows as they cared for the field.
