Twenty-seven second-year students of the Environmental Creation Course have been making a tree book of the school's trees as part of their general practice class.
At the beginning of the class on May 29, the students shared information about the 80 trees they had individually surveyed. Among the questions we received were “Is there such a thing as a birch?” Is it really there?” We were able to resolve some of these questions.
In order to resolve these questions, we reexamined the area with a drawing board in hand. As a result, we made new discoveries, such as finding a tree that was actually a different tree, or a tree that we had not been able to find before. We learned the importance of repeated surveys and re-examination.
Based on the results obtained this time, the class will continue to work toward the completion of the school's tree book.
