下高井農林高校では様々な産業動物を飼育しています。昨年6月、長年飼育されているメスの黒毛和牛「みつこ」が出産をしました。産まれてきたオスの子牛は「和雄」と名付けられ、畜産部の生徒と教職員が中心となり飼育してきました。
4月10日、子牛はついに出荷されました。JA全農長野県本部が主催する長野県中央家畜市場で競りにかけられ、43万2000円の価格が付きました。
Shimotakai Norin High School raises a variety of industrial animals, such as chickens, pigs and cows. Last June, a female Japanese black cow named Mitsuko, who has been raised for many years, gave birth to a male calf. The calf was named Kazuo and was carefully raised by students and faculty members of the livestock club.
On April 10th, the calf was finally shipped and fetched 432,000 yen at the Nagano Prefecture Central Livestock Market, organized by the JA Zen-Noh Nagano.
