11月7日（木）環境創造コース２年生は、飯山市中央橋において葦簀張り実習を行いました。この葦簀張りは、中央橋の欄干に葦簀を貼り、風雪から歩行者を守るために行われるものです。毎年この時期に県の職員と協働で行われる実習で、今年で１０年目を迎えました。
本格的な冬の訪れを感じさせる寒さの中で、生徒は欄干に貼られたワイヤーと葦簀をシュロ縄で結束しました。結束技術は事前の授業を活用し時間をかけて生徒が身につけたものです。実習は効率よく進み、およそ１００枚の葦簀を中央橋に貼り終えることができました。
「地域の生活を守ることに繋がればうれしい」と中央橋を通って通学する生徒は言います。このように環境創造コースは、学びを地域貢献に活かす取り組みを行っています。
On Thursday, November 7th, second-year students from the Environmental Creation Course installed Yoshizu Screens on the Chuo Bridge in Iiyama City. Made of reed and attached to the bridge parapets, the screens protect pedestrians from the winter wind and snow. This activity has been carried out every year for 10 consecutive years in cooperation with prefectural government officials.
Under the cold weather of the coming winter, the students tied the wires and reed screens attached to the parapets with hemp-palm rope. For this practice, they learned and acquired this tying technique over time through prior lessons. In the end, they succeeded in installing 100 sheets of Yoshizu screens to shield the bridge.
Students who come to school via the Chuo Bridge said, “I’m happy that we are helping to support the local community.” In this way, the Environmental Creation Course is making efforts to apply classroom learning for the benefits of the local area.
