10月17日（木）環境創造コース２年生は、地域住民の生命や財産を守る建設業を知ることを目的に長野県栄村秋山郷において研修に参加しました。この研修は国土交通省北陸地方整備局湯沢砂防事務所並びに（株）フクザワコーポレーションご一同様のご協力により行われました。
栄村役場秋山支所において、同事務所の中津川出張所森田様による講義がありました。多くの事例を示しながら地域防災や建設業の役割についてご説明いただきました。模型を用いた実験では、砂防堰堤の効果をわかりやすく説明していただきました。生徒は「生命や財産を守る仕事に興味をもち、進路選択の一つになりました」と話していました。
講義を終え、着工から１３年を経過し、いまも建設が進められている中津川上流１号堰堤に向かいました。ここでの研修は（株）フクザワコーポレーション様にご担当いただきました。生徒は建設現場の説明をうけ、講義で学んだことを実際に目にし、さらに建設に使われている大型クレーン、カニクレーン、バックホーの操縦を体験しました。
生徒は、建設現場において日常ではできない体験を通し地域防災の役割と重要性や建設業についての理解を深めました。
On Thursday, October 17th, the second-year students from the Environmental Creation Course to learned about the construction industry’s role in protecting the lives and property of local residents through a lecture and training held in Akiyamago, Sakae Village, Nagano Prefecture. The workshop was supported by the Hokuriku Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) as well as Fukuzawa Corporation.
At the Sakae Village Office Akiyama Branch, Mr. Morita from MLIT gave a lecture on local disaster prevention and the role of the construction industry, using many practical examples. Forexample, he explained the effects of erosion control weirs with a model experiment, making it easy for students to understand. One student said, “I’ve become interested in the work to protect lives and properties, and I’m thinking it as a potential career path.
After the lecture, the students visited the Nakatsu River Upstream Weir No. 1, which has been under construction for 13 years. The staffs from Fukuzawa Corporation provided a training at the site. The students were briefed on the construction site, saw firsthand what they had learned in the lecture, and had the opportunity to operate machinery used in construction, such as a large crane, spider crane, and backhoe.
The students deepened their understanding of the role of the construction industry and importance of local disaster prevention through valuable experiences at the construction site.
