５月１日（水）環境創造コース２年生は、計見山演習林（木島平村）において実習を行いました。計見山演習林は、学校から車で約３０分の場所に位置しています。
今回の実習の目的は、演習林を散策し、そこに生息する動植物を調査すること、そして実習で用いる木材を得ることです。
生徒はまず演習林を散策し、植物を調査しました。また、チェーンソーを使って、昨年度伐木した木を切り、トラックで運搬可能なサイズに調整しました。更に、センサーカメラを設置し、演習林に住む動物を把握することにしました。例年、センサーカメラの映像には、クマやシカなどが確認されています。今回は、どのような動物が映り込むのか楽しみですね。
On Wednesday, May 1st, second-year students in the Environmental Creation Course engaged in hands-on learning experiences in the Kemiyama Forest (forest for field practice) in Kijimadaira Village. The Kemiyama Forest is located approximately a 30-minute drive from the school.
The purposes of the outdoor learning were to walk through the forest, investigate the flora and fauna there, and obtain wood for use.
First, they walked around the forest and surveyed the vegetation. Then, they used a chainsaw to cut down trees felled last year so that they could be transported by truck. Furthermore, they installed sensor cameras to keep track of animals living in the forest. In previous years, bears and deer have been seen in the sensor camera images. We are looking forward to seeing what kind of animals will be captured this time.
