



3年生が企画運営する農林デイキャンプが1年生を対象に行われました。このイベントでは、野外での体験活動を通じて、自然や環境に対する興味や林産物の活用についての理解を深めることが狙いです。1年生は燻製、モルック、薪割り、火起こし、しおり作り、チェーンソーの使用など、様々な野外活動を体験しました。
1年生は、木の性質、木を使う面白さや楽しさ、などを体験しました。斧は重く、使い方は難しいものの、きれいに割れると1年生は喜んでいました。お昼には、手作りピザ窯で焼いたピザや身近な材料で燻製器を作成し、燻製したチーズやポテトチップスを食べました。「チーズは苦手だったけど燻製にしたらおいしい」と、とある生徒は感想を口にしていました。
First-year students joined in an agriculture and forestry day camp, which was planned and managed by third-year students in the Environmental Creation Course. The event aimed to deepen students’ interest in nature and the environment as well as their understanding of the use of forest products through hands-on outdoor activities. First-year students experienced a variety of outdoor activities. These included smoke-drying, Molkky, chopping wood, making a wood fire, making bookmarks with flowers, and using a chainsaw.
They learned the properties of wood, the fun and excitement of using wood, and more. Although the axe was heavy and difficult to use, they were delighted when they were able to split the wood cleanly. For lunch, the students ate pizza, which was baked in a handmade pizza oven. They also had smoked cheese and French fries which they made out of materials close at hand. One student said, “I used to hate cheese, but I found smoked cheese so delicious.”
