The International Cultural Studies course at Someya is designed to provide you with the foundations to work in such a global community. You must be tired after studying hard all day, right? Maybe you want some time out to relax? Well, there’s some good news! Here at Someya there is an English area where you can take a break and enjoy yourself. Located just outside the English staff room are lots of bi-lingual manga you can read as well as over one hundred English movies (with Japanese subtitles, of course!) you can borrow and take home to watch. You can enjoy learning English in a fun way which doesn’t even feel like study! How awesome is that!?

At Someya, English classes are more than just about learning the language itself - you also have the opportunity to learn about special events and festivals popular in western culture. The friendly ALTs are very happy to talk to you about the traditions and customs in their own countries, as well as their personal history with Easter, Halloween and Christmas. You will be able to hear their unique perspective on many things which you won’t find anywhere else!
