環境創造コース2年生は、8月3日、本校において大型除雪車両の乗車体験を行いました。この体験は、豪雪地帯である中野・飯山地域において、冬期の安全な交通を支える建設業の役割について理解を深めることを目的に、長野県北信建設事務所および長野県建設業協会飯山支部のご協力・ご指導のもと実施されました。
講義では、北信地方の冬の気象の特徴や過去に発生した豪雪災害、道路除雪の仕組みや実際の作業について説明を受けました。生徒たちは、通勤や通学をはじめとする地域の暮らしが、除雪作業によって支えられていることを改めて実感した様子でした。
その後は、大型除雪車両の運転体験を行いました。初めは緊張した面持ちでハンドルを握っていた生徒たちも、体験が進むにつれて操作にも慣れ、自信を持って運転する姿が見られました。
参加した生徒の一人は、「将来は建設業に就きたいと考えているので、今日はとても良い経験になりました」と話していました。
今回の体験を通して、地域の安全・安心を支える建設業の重要性や、防災を担う仕事への理解を深める貴重な機会となりました。本校で学んだ生徒たちが、将来、地域のものづくりや防災の担い手として活躍してくれることを期待しています。

On August 3, second-year students in the Environmental Creation course experienced riding in and operating large snow-removal vehicles at school. This event was held with the cooperation and guidance of the Nagano Prefecture Hokushin Construction Office and the Iiyama Branch of the Nagano Prefecture Construction Industry Association. This hands-on activity aimed to help students better understand the role of the regional construction industry that supports safe transportation in the Nakano and Iiyama areas, which are known for heavy snowfall.
During the lecture, students learned about the characteristics of winter weather in the Hokushin region, past heavy snowfall disasters, and the mechanisms and actual procedures involved in road snow removal. The students realized how snow removal supports daily life in the region, including commuting to work and school.
Afterward, the students had the opportunity to operate large snow-removal vehicles. Although they gripped the steering wheel nervously at first, they quickly grew accustomed to the controls as the practice progressed and were soon driving with confidence.
One participating student said, “I am thinking about a future career in the construction industry, so today was a valuable experience.”
This experience provided a valuable opportunity to deepen their understanding of the construction industry's vital role in supporting local safety and security, as well as the importance of work dedicated to disaster prevention. We look forward to seeing our students play active roles in local manufacturing and disaster prevention in the future.
