令和8年7月10日（金）に環境創造コースの3年生は、木質バイオマス発電所など3か所を見学させていただきました。
まず初めに伺ったのは北信木材センターです。ここでは、形も長さもバラバラな丸太をきれいに加工し、お客様のニーズに応えられる木材を生産する現場を見学しました。また、農林高校の卒業生が働いており、実演してもらったフォークリフトのテクニックに生徒たちは感銘を受けていました。
次に伺ったのは、宮澤木材産業株式会社です。ここでは、丸太や廃材からチップを作り、それを燃焼させることで電気エネルギーを生み出す木質バイオマス発電を行っています。木質バイオマス発電で排出されるCO₂は植物由来であり、新たな植物の成長に利用されます。そのため、バイオマス発電は、環境に優しいエネルギーとして知られています。発電所の取り組みを通して、環境について考えるいい機会になりました。
最後に伺ったのは、黒姫山にある生産事業地です。ここでは、高性能林業機械による木材の伐採・製材が行われていました。迫力ある機械を間近に見ることができ、生徒たちは大興奮でした。
林業の担い手は年々減少している状況です。しかし、今回の見学を通して、生徒たちの職業選択の一つとして林業が加わったことは確かだと思います。この見学で学んだことを２学期以降の授業や生活の中で深めていきましょう！
On Friday, July 10, students in the Environmental Creation Course visited three workplaces related to the forestry industry.
First, the students visited Hokushin Wood Center, where logs of many different shapes and sizes are processed into lumber that meets customers' needs. A Norin High School graduate worked there and gave a demonstration of forklift operation. The students were impressed by the techniques.
Next, they visited Miyazawa Wood Industry Corporation. The company produces wood chips from logs and wood waste and makes electricity by burning these fuels, which is called wood biomass power generation. The carbon dioxide released during the process originally comes from trees and plants, and it is absorbed by growing trees and plants. For this reason, wood biomass power generation is known as an ecofriendly energy source. This was a good opportunity to think about environmental issues.
Finally, the students visited a forestry work site in Mt Kurohime. They watched and were amazed at logging operations and lumber sawing operated by using powerful forestry machines.
The number of people involved in forestry is declining. However, this study tour helped the students think of forestry as one of their future careers. We hope they will make use of this experience for their class in the second semester.
