「実用英語」の授業では、3年生が日常の場面を題材に、英語の会話やライティングの練習を行っています。今回の活動は、実際のアドバイス掲示板「Reddit」をモデルにしています。生徒たちは匿名の投稿（モデル文）を読み、仲間同士で互いの文章を読み合う活動を通じて、より多くの「いいね」を獲得できるよう、より良いアドバイスを書く競争をします。
そのために、自分の意見を裏付ける理由を列挙したり、長所と短所を比較して説得力のある意見を書く方法を学びました。書き終えた後、生徒たちは互いの意見を読み合いました。読むと書くことの両方の練習になりました
In the Practical English class, third-year students have been practicing speaking and writing English based on daily situations. This activity is based on the real advice board Reddit. Students read an anonymous post (model sentences) and compete to write better advice to get more “likes” through peer reading activities.
To do so, they practiced listing reasons to support their opinions and learned how to write persuasive opinions by comparing pros and cons. After finishing writing, they read each other’s opinions. This was good practice for both reading and writing.
