梅雨空が広がる6月12日。今朝はまとまった雨が降り、実習ができるか心配されましたが、午前10時を過ぎると雲の切れ間から強い日差しが届くようになりました。天候も回復し、予定通り産業創造コース3年生による「盆花（ぼんばな）の定植」が行われました。
同コースの生徒たちは毎年、お盆の少し前の時期に、お墓やお仏壇にお供えする花の販売を行っています。本日の実習は、その販売に向けた大切な準備です。
お盆の時期にちょうど見頃を迎えるように育てる必要がありますが、定植日が同じでも、その後の成長度合いは苗ごとに異なります。そのため、開花時期がそろうよう、また時期をずらして長く楽しんでいただけるよう、ある程度の差が出ることも見込んで、大量の苗を丁寧に定植していきました。
お盆に美しい花が咲くことを願いながら、生徒たちの実習は続きます。
On the morning of June 12th, under a rainy-season sky, we were worried that the heavy rain would prevent agricultural practice. However, after 10:00 a.m., the sun started shining through the clouds. The weather became clear, and third-year students in the Agro-industry Creation course started planting Bon flowers as planned.
Every year, students in this course sell flowers to be offered at graves and Buddhist altars a little before Obon. Today was important preparation for that sale.
The flowers need to bloom just in time for Obon. However, even when we plant them on the same day, seedlings grow at different speeds. Therefore, the students carefully planted a large number of seedlings, knowing that some differences in blooming time are natural and can help people enjoy the flowers over a longer period.
The students will continue caring for the flowers, hoping that beautiful flowers will bloom during Obon.
