環境創造コース2年生は11月11日（火）長野県北信地域振興局農地整備課のみなさまの指導のもと、飯山市長峰地区において研修を実施しました。今回の研修では、農業水利施設の役割や地域農業との関わりについて理解を深めることを目的としました。
長峰揚水機場、針湖池（溜池）、針湖池揚水機場・ラバー堰、そして受益地をめぐり、各地点で水利施設の仕組みや役割についてご説明いただきました。生徒たちは積極的にメモをとり、「この高い構造物にはどんな役割がありますか」といった質問をしながら、現場でしか得られない学びを深めました。特に、「水利施設が農業にとって欠かせないことを実感した」といった感想が生徒から聞かれ、地域の農業を支える水の大切さや、水利施設の維持管理の大変さについて理解を深めることができました。

On Tuesday, November 11th, second-year students in the Environmental Creation Course took part in a field study in the Nagamine district of Iiyama City.
The training was conducted under the guidance of staff members from the Agricultural Land Improvement Division of the Hokushin Regional Development Bureau, Nagano Prefecture. The goal of this study was to deepen students’ understanding of the roles of agricultural irrigation facilities and their importance to local farming.
The students visited several sites, including the Nagamine Pumping Station, Hariko Pond (reservoir), Hariko Pond Pumping Station and Rubber Dam, and the surrounding farmlands that benefit from the facilities. At each site, they listened carefully to explanations about how each irrigation facility works and what role it plays. They actively took notes and asked questions, such as “What is the purpose of this tall structure?”, gaining valuable, hands-on learning that can only happen on-site.
Many students reflected that they had realized how essential irrigation facilities are for agriculture. Through this experience, they deepened their understanding of the importance of water in supporting local farming and the effort required to maintain these systems.
