Introduction

Let me introduce our school…

Achi is a small high school in the deep dark south of Nagano prefecture in central Japan. In October 2001 the school celebrated its 50th Anniversary.

Nagano is a beautiful region surrounded by the Japan Alps with a great deal to offer. We can take advantage of our Olympic sites to ski and snowboard in the winter and enjoy hiking and climbing in the summer months.

We have 370 students and they are all, without exception, hardworking and enthusiastic…well, sometimes! The 2001 School Festival was particularly impressive and we are very proud of our sports teams and excellent brass band. Our students are always busy with club activities, both sporting and cultural.
